They include : Excision of benign or malignant lesion by microlaryngeal surgery or laser, Injection of vocal cord with Teflon paste or gelfoam to augment and medialise the paralysed cord so the opposite healthy cord can easily approximate, Thyroplasty which is divided in four types; type I is medial displacement of vocal cord, type II is lateral displacement of vocal cord, type III is shortening of cord, type IV is lengthening the vocal cord and Laryngeal reinnervation procedures.
