Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) Rhinorrhea
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea is the leakage of CSF from the subarachnoid space into the nasal cavitydue to a defect in the dura, bone and mucosa. Trauma is most common cause of csf rhinorrhoea. Investigations done to diagnose this condition are CSF beta-2 transferrin and CT cisternography. Most commonly endoscopic sinus surgery done for treatment. Another option is extracranial approach for a larger defect.
It is fluid present in brain and meninges.

Trauma is the most common cause. Spontaneous, iatrogenic leaks are also encountered.
Beta 2 transferrin CT cisternoraphy
Endoscopic repair of csf defect, sometimes extracranial approach is used for larger defects.
